Education Trends In The Year 2020


Previously, technology was limited to highly developed nations and wealthy corporations. But today, it has permeated almost every country in every possible field. With the rapid rate of technological advancement, the education sector is also expanding to accommodate these new changes.

Recently, many schools and colleges have started adopting technology to develop newer and more efficient ways to impart knowledge. Here are some education trends coming to schools in 2020.

A Chromebook is a device that runs on a Linux based operating system. It can be used through a laptop or a tablet to perform a wide number of functions on Google Chrome. The only difference is that while using the Chromebook, your data is stored in a cloud. The Chromebook can run any android or Linux based apps.

Chromebooks are venturing into the education sector owing to their affordability, customizable features, and functions that have the potential to bring a positive change in the field of education.

  • Teachers Will Be Co-Students And Guiders

When technology changes, we have to change with it too. With new devices being utilized in the classrooms, the teachers will have to take up the role of a student and learn and adapt to these technologies along with the students. The teacher will become a facilitator and guide the students in optimizing the new tools in the best possible way.

Some schools have already started implementing this program. The International Society for Teaching in Education introduced a training program and created a certification course that would enable the teachers to become an ISTE certified teacher.

  • Artificial Intelligence Trends 

Artificial Intelligence has been in the news for many years now. What was earlier depicted in the movies is slowly becoming a reality in the education sector. A study showed that at this rate of technological growth, AI will be an active component of more than 45% of schools and colleges. Artificial Intelligence makes education much more efficient and advanced. Through AI, difficult programs can be taught easily through apps and activities. Online courses are on the rise since the past twenty years. From English Literature to Mathematics, everything can be taught online through video programs. Nowadays, many apps and websites offer these courses to interested students. Some apps like Byju's offer video courses of the topics students study in their class. Apps like SkillShare have become very popular. SkillShare offers various courses from talented teachers all over the world.

  • Video Conference 

Another add-on to the online courses is the process of Video Conferencing. Through a video conference, teachers and the students can recreate the same environment as if in the classroom. This can be done right from the comfort of your home. Teachers and students can decide a time table and conduct the conferences accordingly. Even oral tests and interviews can be taken through a video conference.

  • Education Software

All schools and colleges are incorporating education ERP management software to automate the activities of institutes. A new approach to make paperless and efficiently handle the records of the students.
